If you are looking for a comfy dress that’s also cute as a button, this is the dress for you. I’ve never owned any sort of sweatshirt material dress before, but I finally decided to try one after I saw that this one had the cute ruffled cold shoulders and was only $55. Once it gets a little chillier, I plan on wearing it with my tall suede tan boots, or even with some brown tights and my tan ankle boots!
Did y’all have a good weekend? I had a great weekend with my boyfriend as we ate our little hearts out, and he so kindly took these blog photos for me, as well as blog photos for three other outfits (he’s such a trooper)! As I type this, I’m procrastinating on studying for a Spanish test and watching The Santa Claus… #NEVERtooearly. Let’s just hope you all are being more productive than I am right now.
Have a great week, friends! And Merry Christmas! …Oh shoot, sorry. The movie is rubbing off on me already.

Hello, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was a little meh. I’ve just been feeling pretty overwhelmed lately with everything I’ve had going on between work, interning, and school (*cough* group projects *cough*). Feeling so stressed and overwhelmed is never fun, but I have a lot to look forward in the next few months (THANKSGIVING DINNER!!!!! CHRISTMASSSS!!!!!!) so I’m trying to focus on that. My boyfriend is coming to see me this weekend, and I am so excited about that! He always brings the joy, so that should take some stress away. Also, when he comes to town that means its blog photo shoot time, so you can expect a lot of cute looks in the next few months!
This outfit is probably one of my top three favorites that I’ve done on the blog so far. I’ve been obsessed with hats for fall this year. I think that they make an outfit look instantly more stylish. I’ve been obsessed with sweaters this fall too. Which I know isn’t exactly shocking, but I’ve been more drawn to them than usual. Nordstrom really just needs to stop making cute ones. Throw some argyle out there or something and maybe my sweater obsession will cease. This sweater paired with the hat and white jeans just looks so crisp to me, and I felt very “cool” when I wore this outfit. I understand that me saying I felt cool totally negates any coolness I may have actually possessed, but it was a nice feeling.
Also, I’ve gone to Starbucks five times in a row the past couple weeks and they’ve been out of colored fall cups every time, hence the boring white cup in these pictures. Come on, Starbucks! I love you, but you need to give the people what they want!

It finally felt like fall in Charleston yesterday and I finally felt complete. It wasn’t humid, my car didn’t feel like an oven after sitting in the parking lot all day, and the whole day was just incredible. I blasted Kenny G Christmas music on the way to work and teared up a little. No lie. (Oh Kenny, you saxaphoning fox)
Since it felt so great and cool outside, of course I had to seize the day and shoot a couple of my more toasty outfits, this outfit being one of them. I love a good fur vest, and I’m really glad that they’ve stayed in style for the past four years or so. They really add so much to what could be an otherwise plain outfit. Also, this top is super great. It comes in six different colors, both bright, fun colors, and a couple of great neutrals like black and tan. It’s a great basic that could be styled a ton of different ways.
I hope you all are having a great week! Nothing special going on in Hayley Land. Just more work, and school, and work, and some more school. Oh, and I’m watching the whole series of Friends for like the eighth time so I guess that’s pretty exciting…

Hello, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend, at least better than I did. I’ve been pretty sick for the past week, and this weekend was it’s peak, so I spent my weekend wearing pajamas and oily hair, surrounded by used kleenexes and various medicines. It was a real rager. I think I watched, oh I don’t know…SEVEN movies in one day! Let’s just say I am very ready to have my health back, and to not be violently coughing and blowing my nose every 5 minutes. Also, I am very tired of chicken noodle soup. Can we all just agree it’s the most boring of all soups?
On a brighter note, here’s a pretty sweater that’s a new favorite in my closet. Gotta love a good hot pink, huh? It makes me so happy! Also seeing pictures of myself where my hair and makeup are done and I don’t look like death like I did this weekend makes me very happy!
I love that you can wear this sweater off the shoulder! I suggest going up one size though for a slightly slouchier off the shoulder look. I did my regular size and I would have been a little more comfortable wearing it off one shoulder if I had had a little extra room from a larger size. They just added this sweater in a light blue color online, so someone please restrain me!
You probably remember this dress from my post a couple weeks ago. Remember how I said I wanted to show you all of the different ways this dress could be styled? Well today I am following through with that idea! I raved about this dress a couple weeks ago, and I still rave about it! It can be easily dressed up and dressed down, and styled for both warm and cold weather. For this post I did four different looks. I hope that this gives you a little inspiration, and also persuades you to get this dress! Don’t forget, it’s 30% off and also comes in navy! You won’t regret it!

Side note: These pictures are not the best quality, so I apologize. My boyfriend was sweet enough to take these pictures, and he and I are both still getting the hang of the whole photography thing, particularly when it comes to indoor shoots with little natural light. But I feel we did a pretty good job considering our skill level!

Here we are. We made it through another week, meaning we are one week closer to fall. To celebrate, I watched two Christmas movies this past weekend and I don’t regret it one bit. I know I’m the kind of person that a lot of people cant stand (Cue the “It’s not even October!” crowd), but the holiday season makes me happy, so I’m going to keep milking it for as many months as I can.
I keep dressing warm in the hopes of summoning the cooler temps, but much to my dismay, it hasn’t really been working. I am not one to give up though, so I decided to share this lovely trench coat with you all. Maybe some of you should snag it too in order to bring on the brisk weather that I am in desperate need of. Come on, people! Bring on the dead leaves!
This trench coat is so flattering, as it has an adjustable waist that you can tighten or loosen to your liking. I also love the hood, and the fact that it is longer too, so it will look cute with dresses as well. The color is called ‘grey’ online, but in person it looks like more of a really pale blue to me. I am really looking forward to layering this with a lot of different looks once it starts to actually get cooler outside. I need to get myself a plaid scarf or button-up that has this color somewhere in the pattern to wear with it!
I am finally back in Charleston after being Charlotte for quite some time due to Hurricane Irma. Luckily no damage was done to my place and I am so thankful. I am also super thankful for all of the unexpected time I got to spend with my family and boyfriend while I was home too. Having to evacuate for hurricanes is soooo stressful, but always a blessing in that sense.

Hello, friends! How is the hurricane treating you all? I really hope everyone is doing okay! Luckily Charleston was spared this time, but I’m pretty sure we aren’t totally out of the woods for the next couple months, considering hurricane season just started. Maybe my stress level wasn’t cut out for living on the coast.
If you are looking for a great little black dress, this dress is so perfect. It is really comfortable, and can be styled soooo many different ways. It’s perfect for work or internships, or even for just casually romping around on the weekends. It’s also thin enough that it can be worn in the spring and summer, but can still be warmed up with some layering. I’m telling you, people, this dress is fantastic. I know y’all are probably thinking, “Hayley, it’s a plain black dress. Chill out,” and you’re probably right. Actually, you’re totally right. But I would never get this excited over a plain black dress for nothing, so you can trust me.
I am planning on doing a post this month showing a bunch of different ways that this dress can be styled, just to prove my point and show that I am not totally dramatic.
Again, please be safe if you are in the path of Irma! Although not having school and getting to come home for a few days has been pretty darn great, worrying about my apartment and flooding isn’t too fun. Have a great week!
