Red Roses

Valentine’s Day is just a couple days away, so I decided to go for full Bachelor vibes and take pictures with a bouquet of roses! What can I say? Flowers make the best photo shoot props.

This outfit consists entirely of pieces I’ve owned for awhile, so that’s why I’ve linked so many similar products. Sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got! But this outfit is really simple and easy to recreate. All you need is your favorite white top, favorite pair of jeans, and a simple black heel! If you prefer to go for a more neutral Valentine’s Day look, as opposed to a bunch of pink and red, this would be a great outfit for you.

Do y’all have any fun plans for Valentine’s Day? It’s a bummer it’s on a weekday this year. My boyfriend and I will be a state apart, so I’ll just be spending the day missing him! Maybe I’ll buy myself a clearance bag of candy. As if it wasn’t already hard enough for me to pass up chocolate, the pink packaging sucks me in even more. I’m such an easy target for holiday marketing, let me tell ya.

Hello, everyone! I hope you all have had a great week so far. I am in the middle of finishing up a work week in Charleston before I head home in a few days to see my family and enjoy my holiday break! I am SO ready to be home. I get pretty homesick when I’m not with them this time of year, so I tend to be pretty wired and antsy to get home by the time the day finally comes. I’m just ready to eat good food, drink some Moscato, and soak up the best time of year with my favorite people in the whole entire world (and my pups).

This is one of my favorite looks that I’ve done on my blog so far. It’s at least in my list of my top ten favorites. I love how Christmas-y the pictures ended up looking, and how nicely my coat tied the whole outfit together (minus the lint and stray hairs you can see resting on it. Dang, my camera is almost too good). It’s not hard to get too Real Housewives of New Jersey when wearing leopard pants, but I think I did a decent job of allowing that not to happen lol.

I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far and enjoying time with your loved ones!!! I am truly so grateful for all of you that take the time to read my blog, and I wish you all nothing but the happiest of holidays!! Now time to go mask my homesickness and loneliness by tearing into the bowl of Christmas candy I have sitting on my coffee table. Post-Christmas health cleanse…I actually think I’m ready for you.

Cozy Winter Poncho

Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I am just a day away from my last exam, then I’ll be heading to Charlotte for a quick trip home before heading back to Charleston to work the last little chunk before Christmas Eve. I have been aching for exams to be over so that I can finally think about nothing but the holiday season. I know that I am terrible about rushing time away, and that I can still enjoy the holiday season during exam week, and blah blah blah. But it’s just the way I am, and I don’t like anything distracting me from my favorite time of year.

This outfit is just one of the many reasons why this time of year is my favorite. I love being cozy, and this poncho is pretty much a wearable blanket. A more classy Snuggie, perhaps? I bought it last year so it’s old, but I linked a bunch of really similar ones for y’all! Also, I wasn’t sure about these leggings when I got them and how they would look on me, but boy oh boy am I impressed. They are Spanx leggings and they take all of the holiday treats I’ve consumed the past couple months that have found a home on my thighs, and suck them right in. I mean, why do I need a gym when I have these??? (Totally kidding…Exercise is healthy, cardio is fun, yeah, yeah, whatever.) They come in a few other colors too, so I might be adding them to my list of post-Christmas purchases I have going right now. Yes, I actually have a list of things I plan on buying with whatever money I get for Christmas. This list has been going for the past month and a half, I would say. It’s edited almost daily…

…Hi, I’m Hayley Murray. Purchasing clothing is one of my top 20 greatest joys in life and I love material goods. Have we met?

Feeling Spooky

Ah, Halloween. Part 1 of pre-Christmas festivities. At least that’s how I see it in my mind. Thanksgiving is Part 2. I mean, isn’t Thanksgiving just pre-Christmas? It’s a day of eating and being with family, and basically just giving you a preview of how the whole amazing month of December is going to be, and I’m not complaining. I’m a Christmas fanatic so my mind basically just thinks in terms of Christmas the entire year. Every summer I think, “Oh boy, we’re halfway there!” I just love it so much!

Halloween isn’t exactly my favorite of all of the holidays. I enjoy it more for the time of year it’s in and that it means that fall is here. But it’s not as fun when you’re not a little kid and have to buy your own candy.

Since I’ll be working this Halloween and don’t have any plans, I’m not planning on dressing up this year, so I wore the next best thing for a Halloween look: all black. If you want to put very little effort into a costume, which is what I usually do, you could throw some cat ears on with this look and be good to go. I know a lot of Halloween connoisseurs are probably thinking, “Wow, that’s the most pathetically lazy costume idea I’ve ever heard,” but I promise I’ll make up for it around Christmas. If there is one thing I am not around Christmas, it’s pathetically lazy.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are getting ready for super fun Halloween festivities next week! Here’s a festive idea from the book of “How Hayley Celebrates Halloween”: sit on your couch with a bottle of wine and some Milky Ways, and maybe watch some Law & Order: SVU, because that’s as scary as you get. You’ll be in for a fun night!

Business Casual

Happy Labor Day, everyone! This week I start my new internship! I am so excited! It is my ideal internship, and I feel so lucky that I am able to get this experience and to learn new things outside of the college classroom. In honor of this week being my first week, I thought I would do a more business casual outfit for you all. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a version of this outfit on the try-on videos I did last week on my Instagram Stories. Feel free to follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss any videos or posts like that!

So, what do y’all think of this outfit? Do I look ready for business? Ready to take on Wall Street (lol)? If you are looking for some pants for work that are sleek looking, but also really comfortable (I’m talking pajama-esque comfort), I highly suggest these pants. They are only $55, are pleated, and have a really comfortable feeling. They aren’t your typical stiff work pants. I would even wear these to a nice dinner with some strappy heels! This blouse is also another great find. It comes in red as well, and is on sale for $27.99! The material is really nice, and ruffle sleeves are one of my favorite trends right now. Just keep in mind that it does have a shorter length, so it is best to wear it with more high waisted bottoms. And keep in mind, I already have a pretty short torso, so for all of you (lucky) girls with a long torso, be sure to check out the measurements for this top before you purchase!

Can I just say that I am soooo ready for fall? I need it to cool off. I promise, my hair will look so much better in my blog photos after it finally cools down and this humidity starts to go away. I can’t take it anymore! The frizz is making me crazy. My hair looks so good when I leave the house, only for it to totally deflate as soon as I stay outside for more than five minutes. Do you think a baseball cap would take away too much of the business vibe of this look? Perhaps I can start a new trend.
