Happy Friday, everyone! To be honest I’m feeling a little down today. I guess I’m in more of a Monday mood, as opposed to a Friday mood, you could say. Some days just aren’t the best- it’s just the way life is.
I know everyone is ready for spring outfits, with all of the bright colors and short hems and such, but I just love fall/winter fashion, and I’m trying to soak it up as much as I can while it’s still cool outside (plus I’m pale and a couple months behind on my gym schedule, let’s be real #notreadyforshorts). I borrowed this vest from my mom, and I think it is so cute. I love the blue in it. It makes it a little more unique than my typical neutral vest.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend! Oh yeah, isn’t it Super Bowl Sunday this weekend? I literally don’t even know who’s playing. Super Bowl Sunday is stored in the part of my brain labeled, “Things I Couldn’t Care Less About.” Unless, of course, someone has some spare Super Bowl nachos they want to throw my way. Then I can care a little bit.

Hello, friends!! It’s a new week…but I don’t know how I feel about it. My holiday break is over, and I’m back in Charleston for the first day of school. Why does it always go by so fast?? It feels like it was only a few days ago that I was headed to Charlotte for Christmas. I guess my favorite time of year is over, and now I just have to wait another 350 days for Christmas Eve 2018. Huhhhh, so sad.
Anyways, today brings one of my favorite outfits on the blog to date. This jacket is one of my favorite purchases of 2017. It comes in three colors in the leather version, and five colors in a suede version. I actually jut bought the suede version a couple weeks ago, and I cannot wait to wear it. It will be on the blog very soon. I think a cute jacket can make an outfit. You can throw it over a t-shirt and jeans, and the outfit will be instantly dressed up. It makes everything so easy. In this post I’m wearing a super simple black dress and black tights, and the leather jacket combined with the leopard booties makes the look something a little extra.
I hope you all are having a fantastic start to your week. My parents are coming this weekend to visit me, and I am counting down the days. Visits from the parents mean trips to the grocery store and maybe a little Target trip too. Have you seen their Valentine’s Day section?? So much pink, so little time. The perfect place to buy things you absolutely don’t need! My specialty!

Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I am just a day away from my last exam, then I’ll be heading to Charlotte for a quick trip home before heading back to Charleston to work the last little chunk before Christmas Eve. I have been aching for exams to be over so that I can finally think about nothing but the holiday season. I know that I am terrible about rushing time away, and that I can still enjoy the holiday season during exam week, and blah blah blah. But it’s just the way I am, and I don’t like anything distracting me from my favorite time of year.
This outfit is just one of the many reasons why this time of year is my favorite. I love being cozy, and this poncho is pretty much a wearable blanket. A more classy Snuggie, perhaps? I bought it last year so it’s old, but I linked a bunch of really similar ones for y’all! Also, I wasn’t sure about these leggings when I got them and how they would look on me, but boy oh boy am I impressed. They are Spanx leggings and they take all of the holiday treats I’ve consumed the past couple months that have found a home on my thighs, and suck them right in. I mean, why do I need a gym when I have these??? (Totally kidding…Exercise is healthy, cardio is fun, yeah, yeah, whatever.) They come in a few other colors too, so I might be adding them to my list of post-Christmas purchases I have going right now. Yes, I actually have a list of things I plan on buying with whatever money I get for Christmas. This list has been going for the past month and a half, I would say. It’s edited almost daily…
…Hi, I’m Hayley Murray. Purchasing clothing is one of my top 20 greatest joys in life and I love material goods. Have we met?

So…this may be stating the obvious, considering I am literally draped in it…but I’m really starting to get into leopard. I’ve been sort of avoiding patterns the past year or so, but leopard is a new pattern that I now find myself drawn to. It goes great with neutrals as well as bright colors too, so I love that it is versatile and fun at the same time.
I’m also wondering if I pull this hat off or not. It looks so cute on other girls, but for some reason when I put it on, I wasn’t as pleased with it as I thought I would be. I accidentally got it a size too small, so it’s a bit snug. I am not sure if that affected the way it looks, but I am going to try wearing it a few more times with different outfits to see if it grows on me!
We are almost to the weekend!! Do y’all have any fun plans? Today is my last day of classes before exams and I am soooooo relieved. Peace out, bio lab…I definitely won’t miss you.
If you’re looking for an outfit to wear for a date night, a GNO, or just feel like over-dressing to go wandering around your neighborhood like me, this outfit is perfect for you. This top is so comfortable, but really cute at the same time with its ruching and off-the-shoulder sleeves. I think the ruching is what sets it apart from other off-the-shoulder tops that I own. I paired it with white jeans and heels for this post, but it could also be styled with some denim shorts and metallic gladiators for a more laid-back look.
The earrings are my favorite part of this outfit! I usually only wear studs for everyday, but I think I am going to start delving into statement earrings for the spring and summer. They just add a nice pop of color, or a fun shape, to an outfit, and there are some really fun ones out right now, like these, and these. A fun piece of jewelry is perfect if you’re feeling a little spunky!
I hope y’all are having a great start to your week! Leave a comment below to let me know what you think of this outfit, or any suggestions you may have for me. Keep checking back once a week for a new post!
