Hello, folks! It’s been forever since I’ve actually come on here with a post like this! Though I must admit, the break was very nice. I love my blog, but there are aspects of it that can be very overwhelming. But I am happy to be back, and already have my wheels turning for new content in the coming months. Fall is right around the corner, and it is my absolute favorite season to dress for, and the time of year when I feel most inspired, and honestly just more happy all around. I love my cute yellow top and white jeans in this post, but just thinking about wearing sweaters, boots, jackets, and cute hats gets me so giddy and excited!!!

What have you all been up to?? I can’t believe we are already on the last leg of summer. It feels like only yesterday that I was celebrating with all of you that school was over with for the year, and now I only have a month left before I’m back there again. Ugh, gross. But at least it’s my senior year! Woohoo!!!

August is going to be another very busy month for me, so I can’t promise that things with the blog are going to pick up their normal pace quite yet. I am going to Texas with my family and Juan to visit some of our family (fun fact, I was born in Texas), and then school also starts in August, so it is going to be another busy month where my schedule is going to be all out of whack. But I promise that after August, things will be in full swing! I hope you all have a great week ahead of you!!!

Yellow Cold Shoulder Top

GIBSON & LATIMER Top (another super similar option for only $35 here!) // CITIZENS OF HUMANITY Jeans // SAM EDELMAN Shoes // LISI LERCH Earrings (another super similar option for only $38 here!)

Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day! Thankfully, I have been in Charlotte all weekend, so I was lucky enough to get to spend the day with my mom.  I cooked a huge dinner for her yesterday, with the help of grilling duties from my dad. My dad grilled steaks, and I cooked chipotle shrimp skewers with grilled pineapple, grilled asparagus, stuffed mushrooms (which are always a HUGE hit), knock-off Red Lobster biscuits, and white Texas sheet cake. Geez, I’m feeling fat just thinking about it haha. I LOVE to cook, and any excuse I have to cook for others, I will take it. Not to brag or anything, but I outdid myself in the kitchen yesterday lol.

How perfectly does this outfit go with this yellow Charleston house, by the way? That’s the best part about taking blog pictures in Charleston. There’s so many options for scenic photos, and you can walk just a few houses down and get a totally new location. The thing that isn’t good about photo shoots in Charleston, though? The humidity. I feel like the humidity has really held off the past couple months, but alas, it has arrived. Man, I’m really looking forward to months and months of bad hair days (#sarcasm)!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and also a great week ahead of you! I have some really cute outfits coming to the blog this month that I can’t wait to share, so stay tuned! And if you have any recommendations for posts you would like to see, please let me know!

The Sunniest Yellow Dress

fullsizeoutput_be6fullsizeoutput_be8fullsizeoutput_becfullsizeoutput_bf0fullsizeoutput_bf2fullsizeoutput_bf6

FREE PEOPLE Dress // MARC FISHER Wedges // LISI LERCH Earrings

Alright, folks. Let’s cut to the chase. This dress is fantastic. I really don’t know what more I need to say about it. I mean, do you see it? It’s gingham. It’s embroidered. It has ruffle sleeves. It’s the color of sunshine. It’s flowy so you can eat in it. Do you really want me to keep rambling on?

This dress also comes in black, navy, and red — and believe me, if I could afford to purchase it in another color, I would! But sometimes I have to take a step back and calmly say to myself, “Hayley, I don’t know who you think you are that you think you can actually afford to buy this dress in another color. You are aware you pay your own bills right?” After that tough-love session with myself, I am able to come to my senses, and slowly (but not without hesitation), put my credit card back in my wallet.

Are y’all having a swell week so far? Any fun plans for the weekend? Right now, I am writing this post as a way to procrastinate on the 10-page paper I have due on Monday. Also, right before I started typing the sentence you are reading right now, I had just taken a 10-minute “break” from writing this post to look at earrings on Baublebar. I’m procrastinating on my procrastination….Lord, help me.

Blue and White Striped Top for 30% off

LOFT Top (30% off today!) // J. CREW Jeans // SAM EDELMAN Shoes // LISI LERCH Earrings

Happy Monday!!! How was your weekend? My dad came to see me this weekend and we had so much fun! We went to see a comedy show, went to church, and had some amazing food. If you are a Charleston local, or are visiting Charleston soon, you should check out EVO Pizza. It was freaking amazing. Their pizza crust is a thin crust, but it’s really soft, not crispy like most thin crusts. It was heavenly. I recommend the pistachio pesto pizza.

I posted this outfit on Instagram twice last week and everyone went crazy for it! I got this top for half price when Loft was having their Easter sale, and I’m so glad I did. It is so comfortable, and just a really classy top. I took these blog pictures right after church a couple weeks ago, and I thought the outfit was perfect for church. I also think the top could be styled in a way that would make it very business professional as well, maybe with some tailored navy straight leg pants and nude heels.

Also, if you haven’t seen my teeth whitening post from last week, there’s still time to enter the Smile Brilliant giveaway! Click here to enter!

I hope you all had a great weekend! This is my last week of class (not counting finals that are in a couple weeks), and I am ready to be finished. I need a four month-long summer break asap.

Red Dress Boutique Top (another cute similar style here) // J. Crew Jeans // Sam Edelman Shoes // Lisi Lerch Earrings

Hi folks! I hope you all are doing well! I am so excited to be posting this top, because it has been one of my favorite purchases of the past month! It is so vibrant and fun all on its own, and that makes putting together an outfit with it so easy. This outfit really required no effort, just throwing on some jeans and shoes, but with this top I felt really put-together! And it’s under $40 so, what more do I need to say?

What are your plans for Easter weekend?? My boyfriend is coming to see me this weekend so we are going to do what we do best…eat! I am making us an Easter dinner, so I’m gonna cook pineapple-barbecue meatballs, jalapeño creamed corn, sweet potato casserole, and these little birds nest cookies that are so stinkin’ cute!!! It’s going to be a great weekend! I get to see my man and I get to eat good food! I hope you all have a fantastic holiday with your friends and family!
