Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

This is a new find for me. I have never been a liquid foundation person. I had been an avid user of Bare Minerals powder-based foundation since the 8th grade…so the past EIGHT years…until I found this foundation. I was really wanting a more high coverage foundation that would last longer throughout the day, because I tend to have more oily skin. I had heard so many good things about the Double Wear foundation, and after reading all of the rave reviews, I finally got myself a bottle this past Christmas. It is AMAZING. I won’t ever be able to go back. It makes your skin look so good and actually lasts all day. It’s definitely a new holy grail product for me.

two

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

I started using these eyeshadows a few months ago and I am obsessed with them. I use the colors ‘Golden Goddess’ and ‘Rose Gold Retro’ and I wear them everyday. They are really sparkly so if you prefer a more toned-down makeup look during the day, I would just set these aside for your night-out makeup. But I love sparkle so I have no problem wearing mine during the day. The pay-off is really beautiful and there is no fall-out at all.

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner

If you read my All About My Hair blog post, you already know that I love this shampoo and conditioner. My mom and I have been using this stuff for the past few years. It makes your hair feel so good and healthy. I love how thick the shampoo is too. My mom and I get the big bottles to last us a few months, which is what I’ve linked above. That’s why they’re so pricey.

T3 Convertible Base & Whirl Trio Interchangeable Wand Set

This is another product that you’ve seen if you’ve read my hair post. I heard about this curling iron because a TON of bloggers that I follow use it. It is very pricey, but I got it as a birthday gift last year and I love it. If you curl your hair as much as I do (all the time), I highly suggest investing in this product. One suggestion I do have though, is to only purchase one barrel that you think you’d like to attach to the base. I got the set of three attachments and I only use one of them. It’s sort of a waste to spend the extra money on all three (even though they call it a “deal”) because you could spend less money on just one. I only use the 1″ straight barrel and the other two just sit in my drawer.

five

Milani Baked Brush in ‘Dolce Pink’

I love blush! I feel like it just brightens up my face and my makeup isn’t complete until I have it on. But if I’m being honest, I’m not very picky when it comes to my blushes. All I ask is that it be pink and have a little bit of shimmer. I have tried higher-end, cult classic blushes like Nars ‘Orgasm,’ and although I liked it, it didn’t exactly blow me out of the water, especially considering its cost. But I just grabbed this blush randomly one day at CVS and I think it’s really great. It lasts all day and has good color pay-off and beautiful shimmer. Plus it’s eight bucks, so…..what more do I need to say?

Vanillamint Supreme 2X Lipgloss

This might seem kind of random since it’s just one of those random lip glosses that Bath & Body Works carries, but I honestly love this stuff. I love the fact that all of the flavors are mint flavored, because I really like the tingly feeling of the mint on my lips. My favorite flavor is the Cinnamint one, but I couldn’t find it on their website. I feel like the cinnamon in it sort of plumps your lips. To be honest I feel like the plumping factor that the mint in these lip glosses gives you makes them a solid dupe for the Dior Lip Maximizer. My mom has the Dior and I tried it one day, and I didn’t really notice a difference between it and the mint gloss from Bath & Body Works in terms of their plumping factor.

seven

NYX Lip Pencil in ‘Mauve’

I used to never wear lipstick or lip pencils, I would just wear a gloss. But over the summer I started wearing this lip pencil under my gloss and I can’t go back. Now I feel like I look dead when I don’t have this lip pencil on. All I do is line my lips with it and then fill them in just a little bit. It’s just a great, simple lip pencil, and it’s only $3.99.

eight

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

This is another product that I have been using since literally the 8th grade!! I had really oily skin in middle school and I would always get so bummed because my eyeshadows would crease on my eyelids by the middle of the day. I watched a bunch of Youtube makeup videos and found this product and have been using it ever since. Your eyeshadow won’t go anywhere. It is spectacular. Plus a little goes a long way, so a tube lasts you like a year. I’m sure a lot of people are thinking, “Ew, gross it’s expired!” but I don’t care lol.

nine

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I’ve been using this bronzer since the 9th grade. It is the perfect shade for fair skin, and isn’t harsh or orange at all. Plus it is matte so that’s nice. Simply put, it’s just a great, easy bronzer! No fuss!

honorable mention

The only reason these products are not included in the list is because I could not find them online! But two products that I LOVE are the Almay Intense i-color liquid eyeliner and pencil eyeliner for blue eyes in the shade ‘Brown Topaz.’ I rave about these eyeliners. I have been using them since…no joke…the SEVENTH GRADE!!! So ten freaking years. If these eyeliners ever got discontinued I don’t know what I would do. The fact that I couldn’t find them online scares me a little bit. I may have to got Ulta tomorrow and buy every single one that I can find. The color is the perfect shade of brown, not too dark and not too light. It compliments blue eyes perfectly and is such a flattering color. I think they have colors for brown, hazel, and green eyes too. I can’t speak for those colors since I have blue eyes, but I’m sure they are wonderful too. Seriously next time you are at Ulta or a drug store, pick up these eyeliners…just make sure you leave some for me. They are holy grail products for me, for sure!

Window Shopping Wants + October

Welcome to another month of things-Hayley-wants-buy-but-has-no-money-for! Thanks for stopping by! If you read this whole post, I know we would get along really well because there’s just something about discussing clothes with someone that really bonds me with them. I mean, I could go on about clothes for hours, but I’ll spare you the boredom and condense it into this cute little collage.

1. Tory Burch ‘Miller” Flip Flop in ‘Natural Leopard’

I have had my sand patent leather Miller sandals since my junior year of high school. Almost six years, people. I don’t know if I’m more in shock that a pair of shoes lasted that long, or that I was junior in high school six years ago…seriously feels like yesterday, and that freaks me out. Anyways, my Millers are finally starting to get a little too worn out since I wear them almost every day for 8-hour days working retail. This leopard pair is a fun twist on a neutral and might be my replacement pair.

2. Brixton Fiddler Cap in ‘Black/White Tweed’

I used to think hats like this looked so hilarious and early 2000s, but it looks like they’re making a comeback, and my view of them has totally changed. When styled the right way, they look so adorable, and I am definitely thinking about grabbing one. I’m still debating if I can pull it off though.

3. Topshop Balloon Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater

Wow, another sweater that I’m obsessed with! Surprise, surprise! I mean geez, Nordstrom, are you trying to kill me?? Its a turtleneck, has statement sleeves, and is a gorgeous color. Ugh, I’m just gonna let it sit in my cart for the next week and hope it sells out. For my bank account’s benefit, not my heart’s.

4. Lisi Lerch Ginger Earrings in ‘Gold’

I have firm plans to grab myself a pair of these in the next month or so, so you will definitely be seeing them in coming blog posts. A bunch of my friends have them and they are so gorgeous on. They make dressing up an outfit a breeze.

5. Matisse Grove Genuine Calf Hair Bootie

Okay, I don’t know what the deal is with me and leopard lately, either, but I have been finding myself so attracted to it the past couple weeks. I would love these with some black skinny jeans and the red turtleneck that I want so badly too. Basically I just think about outfits all day long, in case y’all were wondering.

Window Shopping Wants + September

Hello, friends! I’ve decided to start a new segment on the blog, called Window Shopping Wants. I am an avid online shopper. I probably peruse different clothing sites, fashion blogs, and liketoknow.it, every day when I’m bored or just relaxing at home. Although I rarely actually buy anything, I still see things I want all the time and am always getting outfit inspiration. I’ve always called this “online window shopping,” since I’m not actually buying anything, just browsing. So I was thinking, why not share some of the things I have my eye on? Every month I will bring you my Window Shopping Wants, and share a few of the things I would buy if someone left a giant sack of money on my doorstep (Anyone?…Anyone…? Bueller…?).

WSW1

1. BP. Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan in ‘Green Timber’

I’ve come to notice that a lot of my fall clothes are burgundy, so I would really like to go to the cooler side of the spectrum and start wearing some more green this time of year. I really like this hunter green because it’s the same color as a Christmas Tree, and who doesn’t love to look like a Christmas tree?

2. Baublebar Bone Links Necklace

I really like tortoise patterns, and the blonde tortoise of this necklace is so pretty! I think the necklace is also the perfect size. It’s chunky enough to make a statement, but isn’t super clunky on your neck.

3. Arturo Chiang Hadley Bootie in ‘Iron Leather’

I need these shoes soooooo bad. I am a shoe freak, and when I see a pair I like, I can’t stop thinking about them (wow, obsess much?). I love the shape of them, and especially the chocolate brown color! Maybe I’ll add them to my Christmas list…

4. Nike Free Focus Flyknit 2 Bionic Training Shoe in ‘Sunset Tint/Red Stardust’

I’ve been needing a new pair of tennis shoes for awhile, and by “need,” I mean that the ones I have now are kind of dirty and I don’t care enough to clean them. I really like the color of these and I think they’d be really cute to wear *to the gym.

*when I’m being lazy and don’t want to get dressed up

5. Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Robe in ‘Indigo/White’

For some reason I’ve been on kind of a robe kick the past few months. I’ve been on the lookout for one but have managed to talk myself out of buying one, because I have these things called bills that I have to pay. But if I ever get some spare money or win the lottery, I will have my eye on this one. It looks so soft and cozy and the color gray has really been growing on me recently.

6. Halogen Cashmere Off the Shoulder Sweater in ‘Heather Oatmeal’

Y’all didn’t think I would stop wearing off the shoulder pieces because it’s getting a little chillier did you? Nope, I am still an off the shoulder freak. This sweater is adorable!

7. Kendra Scott Ellie Gold Stud Earrings in ‘Bronze Veined Turquoise’

I don’t know what it is about Kendra Scott, but it is so easy to impulse buy there. I try not to allow myself to go in the store because I just get sucked right in. These earrings are so cute though, and I feel like turquoise is such a stand-out color when paired with so many different neutrals.

April Favorites

April has come and gone, and if I’m being totally honest, I was in summer mode for about 83% of it. But on the bright side, along with April came some new finds and trends that I am enjoying very much, and what better way to get through finals than by writing about things I’m loving, because we all know that final exams will definitely not make this list.

Marc Fisher Shoes

IMG_3753IMG_3757IMG_3760IMG_3764

I had been wanting a pair of Marc Fisher wedges for awhile, and a few weeks ago Macy’s was having a huge spring shoe sale, and these two pairs were already on sale, plus had an additional 30% off! When I saw the sale, I lost all will power and snatched them up. I am so so happy that I bought them! They are just great, high quality wedges that I can put with anything, so I can get a ton of use out of them!  They are definitely worth all of the hype they receive, and Marc Fisher is probably my new go-to brand for wedges.

Target’s adorable doormats!

FullSizeRender.jpg-1

I know, right? This mat is totally, 100%, ridiculously adorable. Target has sooooo many cute doormats out right now, like this pineapple one (perfect for Charleston!), or this tropical one! When my roommate and I saw this cactus mat though, we thought it was just too cute to pass up. I don’t even want to step on it because I don’t want to get it dirty!

CHUCK Baseball Cap by The Nash Collection

IMG_3773

For all of you Charleston-lovers out there, I know that you’re digging this Chuck-Town baseball cap. I bought this from Teal Boutique a couple of weeks ago! I was hoping to get it in gray, but they were all sold out, so I settled for the olive, which is still available online (as I’m typing this though, there’s only one left in stock, so if you want it, you better go grab it!)! The Nash Collection also makes hats like this one for other cities as well, so you should definitely check them out. This hat is perfect for when I haven’t washed my hair in three days (which is my hair right now, as I’m typing this) and want to pretend like I actually put in the effort.

Statement Earrings

Untitled

And finally, I have started to develop a taste for big and vibrant statement earrings. After I bought the earrings for this post, I wanted more, and I’m hoping to grow my collection over the summer! I am drawn to the really chunky, brightly-colored ones, and I think they just pop so nicely with a summer tan. I have my eye on some Lisi Lerch pairs in particular, and Baublebar has some awesome options for statement earrings out right now!

Well, another monthly favorites post down is in the books, and I hope it was just as enjoyable for y’all to read, as it was for me to write (and to buy the stuff for it, let’s be real)! Just a few more days of exams left, and I am finally freeeee!! I am wishing everyone a happy Monday, and check back next week for a new post!

March Favorites

Hello, friends! As you’ve probably seen many bloggers do, I have decided to take a spin at doing a post for my “favorites” for each month, at the end of every month. These favorites will mostly be fashion and beauty-related, but I’m also thinking about including a Charleston or Charlotte restaurant or store every now and then! I know that these are done so often on style blogs, and I truly want my blog to be a unique expression of myself, so I will try to add my own honest, fresh opinion on all of my favorites! Let me know what you think of these posts! I would love to know everyone’s opinion.

Ok, let’s get into this and see how much of my grocery budget I spent on material items this month…

T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand

IMG_1875

Anyone that knows me, knows that I always curl my hair. I love straight hair on other people, but I just don’t feel like myself when my hair is straight. I gotta have those big Texas curls. Well, my parents gave me this curling iron for my birthday a couple of months ago, and I must say, it definitely reaches those Texas standards. It is not the cheapest curling iron by any means, but it is so light weight, high quality, and it has three barrel attachments, so you’re basically getting three curling irons out of it. It’s the same curling iron that Southern Curls and Pearls uses, and that’s where I first heard about it. It just curls your hair so incredibly well, and I will be using this curling for years down the road. (By the way, if you want a better deal on this, hit up eBay. You can buy brand new curling irons at a cheaper price. I linked a couple of eBay links for it below)

Bath and Body Works Cinnamint Supreme 2X Lipgloss

IMG_1871

If you’re anything like me, you constantly need to have some sort of moisturizer on your lips (I’m looking at you, Carmex) and it’s kind of a problem and you low-key go into shock when you don’t have anything on your lips (oh…no one’s like me and I’m just weirdly addicted to Carmex? Never mind…). Well, I found this lipgloss at Bath and Body Works this month, and Carmex has now taken a backseat and Cinnamint is at the wheel. After I tried one tube, I went back and bought three more. This lipgloss is super moisturizing, and the cinnamon in it adds a little bit of a “kick” to your lips that makes them look a bit fuller, with just a slight natural/rosy color (like your own lip color, but better), in my opinion. And that’s always a plus!

Sam Edelman Shoes

IMG_1915IMG_1948

As you can probably tell from my blog posts, I LOVE Sam Edelman shoes! I had never owned a pair until I bought a pair with my Christmas money a few months ago, and since then I have accumulated four pairs and I do not plan on stopping (I think I just heard my bank account scream in terror after I typed that). You can constantly find Sam Edelman shoes on sale, whether it’s on their own website, or on NordstromNordstrom Rack, or Zappos! All of the pairs I own, I got on sale! I love how a lot of their styles of shoes come in a variety of colors, and if I’m being totally honest and not trying to fish for flourishing adjectives, they are just downright CUTE. The hot pink ones in the picture above are so comfortable, and I truly mean that. I was so obsessed with them that I bought them in Oatmeal last week! I highly suggest checking out these shoes if you haven’t already!

Multiple Rings

IMG_1957IMG_1906IMG_1909

For my final favorite of this month, I have fallen in love with wearing multiple rings at a time. It’s always been a trend that I’ve loved, and it makes me feel like Phoebe from Friends. The past couple of months I have finally spent money on rings that I really love, and I’m finally happy with the daily set-up of my fingers. Alex and Ani is a great place for rings, particularly wrap rings (get the mermaid wrap ring if you want to stare in awe at the adorableness of your thumb all day, like I do), and all of their rings come in both gold and silver! And Kendra Scott always has your back for your jewelry needs, and when I went to Savannah, Georgia for a day trip a couple weeks ago, I had to get this ring! Wearing multiple rings makes me feel so put-together, and makes staring at my nails after I get a fresh manicure, so much better.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post and are having a great week! I have some outfits planned out for the next few weeks that I’m really excited about, so keep checking back!
