Hello, folks! It’s been forever since I’ve actually come on here with a post like this! Though I must admit, the break was very nice. I love my blog, but there are aspects of it that can be very overwhelming. But I am happy to be back, and already have my wheels turning for new content in the coming months. Fall is right around the corner, and it is my absolute favorite season to dress for, and the time of year when I feel most inspired, and honestly just more happy all around. I love my cute yellow top and white jeans in this post, but just thinking about wearing sweaters, boots, jackets, and cute hats gets me so giddy and excited!!!

What have you all been up to?? I can’t believe we are already on the last leg of summer. It feels like only yesterday that I was celebrating with all of you that school was over with for the year, and now I only have a month left before I’m back there again. Ugh, gross. But at least it’s my senior year! Woohoo!!!

August is going to be another very busy month for me, so I can’t promise that things with the blog are going to pick up their normal pace quite yet. I am going to Texas with my family and Juan to visit some of our family (fun fact, I was born in Texas), and then school also starts in August, so it is going to be another busy month where my schedule is going to be all out of whack. But I promise that after August, things will be in full swing! I hope you all have a great week ahead of you!!!

Happy Sweater and Happy Weather

Free People Thermal Top (sold out in this color, but other colors available here, and here) // J. Crew Jeans // Vince Camuto Booties (sold out, but identical pair here) // Lisi Lerch Earrings // Tory Burch Clutch (old, but similar here)

Happy Friday!!! Does anyone have any fun plans for this weekend? Today is my boyfriend’s birthday, so to celebrate he is coming to see me this weekend and I’m going to make him chicken parmesan (his favorite meal) and lemon cheesecake. Not gonna lie, I’m pretty pumped for the meal too hehe. Nothing like using your boyfriend’s birthday as an excuse to carbo-load.

This outfit is my first spring look of the year, and although I already miss my sweaters and jackets, I was really excited with how this outfit turned out. I think the hydrangeas helped! They really tied this whole look together!

This thermal top is a perfect weight to make it a great transition piece between seasons. It is unfortunately sold out in this color, but there are still a lot of colors of it that can be found on sale at a handful of places (all linked under photos)! It would look cute in the fall with jeans and boots, or in the spring with white jeans or front-tucked into denim shorts!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Get pumped for Spring!

The Easiest Striped Dress

J. Crew Dress // Show Me Your Mumu Vest (old, so other cute vests here, here, and here) // Sam Edelman Booties // Lisi Lerch Earrings // Tory Burch Clutch (old, similar here, and here)

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I had a pretty swell weekend. My boyfriend, Juan, came to visit me this past weekend and surprised me! Opening my door to his adorable face when I wasn’t expecting it really made my heart sing hehe. But now I am getting back into the swing of things and trying to get through my school work because this weekend I am headed to Charlotte for my BIRTHDAY whoop whoop! The big 22. Ugh, I can just feel the extra wisdom from my 22nd year of living such an enriched life brewing up inside me #sarcasm. It’s going to be very relaxed, nothing big. I just want to spend time with my family (dogs included) and Juan! Oh yeah, and eat. I’m trying to post more on my Instagram stories so I can connect more with y’all through my “everyday life,” so I’ll try to post pictures on there throughout the weekend so you guys can tag along in my birthday shenanigans. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you can follow me here! I also have a pretty fun post planned that will be coming on my birthday (Sunday, the 28th). It’s something a little different from what I normally do, but hopefully it will help you guys get to know me a little better, and you all will enjoy it!

Moving on to the style aspect of this site lol, you might remember this dress from this post that I did a long time ago last summer! I decided to style this dress for winter because I LOVE pieces that I can wear all year round by just styling them a little differently. This dress is older, but luckily J. Crew Factory has a pretty much identical one in stock right now (linked under the photos). My vest is a few years old, but I tried to find some other cute vests that I also thought would look cute styled over this dress! It’s amazing what some simple layering can do to transition a piece through the different seasons. I guess I should say that one of my favorite hobbies is putting together transitional outfits (lol I need to get out more…).

I hope you all have a great week! Who am I kidding? Of course you will. It’s pretty much my birthday week after all 😉

Feeling Thankful

FullSizeRender.jpg-1IMG_1928IMG_1976IMG_2012IMG_1994IMG_1859IMG_1905IMG_2005IMG_1917

My outfit:

| Wrap: ILYMIX (other cute ones here, here, and here)| Sweater: old, so similar here, and here | Jeans: Articles of Society | Boots: Ugg (older style, so similar here, and here | Earrings: Lisi Lerch |

Juan’s Outfit:

| Sweater: J. Crew (older style so similar here, and here) | Watch: Michael Kors (older style, so similar here, and here) | Boots: Aldo (older style, so similar here, and here) |

And just like that, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Tonight I’m going to start preparing my contributions to the meal, including mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and my Aunt Jan’s stuffed mushrooms! Tonight I will also start fasting so I can have plenty of room for the bounty of buttery carbs I plan to consume.

As you can see, I am introducing a special guest on today’s blog post…my lovely boyfriend, Juan. He was kind enough to let me feature him for this post! I’ve been wanting to show just a touch of men’s fashion on here for awhile, and there’s no better model than Juan. I mean, literally, he looks like a freaking model in these photos. And he doesn’t even try, it just comes natural. It’s really not fair. Maybe I should just let him run this blog lol.

I thought both of our outfits were stylish and simple enough that they could easily be recreated! A majority of the pieces Juan and I are wearing are older things that we’ve had in our closet for the past year or two, but I found a lot of similar pieces so there are a lot of options to get the same look! You might remember my wrap from this blog post, where I wore it as a scarf. That’s why I love blanket scarves. They can be worn both as a scarf and a wrap, and that’s a great way to get your money out of an item.

I hope you all are having a great holiday break so far, spent with friends and family, and are hopefully able to get off work soon if you are still working. I am so grateful for all of the blessings and amazing people in my life. From Juan, who can always make me smile and makes me feel so loved all the time, to my amazing parents who always take care of me when I need them. I am thankful for my little brother, Juan’s family who has become my second family, and my friends from both Charlotte and Charleston. I am thankful for all of you who take the time to read this tiny blog of mine. The list of people I am grateful for goes on and on, and that makes me feel so thankful.

Happy early Thanksgiving, everyone! Get your jingle bells ready, because if you thought my holiday spirit was annoying before Thanksgiving, just you wait until after tomorrow….

Fun Twist on a Button-Up

IMG_1551IMG_1532IMG_1558IMG_1541IMG_1544IMG_1508IMG_1553

| Top: Trouve (older style from Nordstrom Sale, so similar styles here, and here | Pants: J. Crew | Shoes: Via Spiga (sold out, so similar here, and here (20% off!!)) | Clutch: Tory Burch (older style, so similar here) | Glasses: Warby Parker |

Good morning! I hope you all are well and had a great weekend! I’m not ready to take on the week, but at least I’m coming back from a great weekend! I spent it in Charlotte and the trees were freaking amazing. It makes me emotional when the trees turn colors because it’s just so beautiful and one of my favorite things in life! I went online and found a stock photo of some fall trees and made it my laptop background, just so that I will have a little fall to take back with me to Charleston. Lord knows the trees there are still going to be 90% green when I get back!

What better way to celebrate the fall leaves than to match them?? This burgundy poplin top went perfect with my surroundings and I honestly couldn’t have tied the look together better myself. I think this outfit would be great for Thanksgiving, but personally, I am planning on going for something a little more flowy…ya know, for eating purposes. But if you aren’t an animal like me, than totally go for this look!
