Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week! Any fun plans for this weekend? No fun plans on the Hayley front- just work and homework. My favorite kinds of weekends! (If you didn’t read that sentence with a sarcastic tone, you read it wrong.)

Isn’t this sweater adorable? I love how sweet and feminine the ruffles on the shoulders are. The ruffles make enough of a statement that you don’t have to do much in terms of styling, so just a pair of jeans and booties worked for me. But I think I would love it even more with white jeans and wedges once it starts to get warmer! P.S. It comes in grey too, if you aren’t a pink gal.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Before I sign off, I have been working hard the past few weeks to start planning spring content for March, and I would love to get feedback on what you all would like to see! Are there any specific outfits for spring you would like to see? Do you find my outfit collages helpful? Or would you like to see more beauty content? I value your feedback so much, so it would mean so much to me to hear from y’all! If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment on this post or on one of my Instagram photos!

Happy Thursday!! We are almost done with the week, woohoo! I’m finishing up the last bit of school work before this weekend, because my dad is coming to see me and I’m so excited! He’s going to take me to Sam’s to get some necessities. We are gonna do other stuff too, but for some reason I’m strangely excited for the trip to Sam’s…? I used to hate going there when I lived at home before college, but over the years I have found more and more enjoyment in it. Man, growing up just makes you a big ol’ bulk-shopping loser, huh?

On a totally different note, I bought this sweater for work, and now I want it in every color. It’s so comfortable, and is roomy but still manages to be flattering! I’ve been wearing it with white jeans to work because let’s face it, besides the amazing weather we have had the past few days, this is Charleston and it still feels like freaking August outside most of the time. So until it consistently feels like it’s after Labor Day, I’m going to continue wearing my white pants. It’s less laundry for me anyways…don’t have to wash my blue jeans as much.

Have a great weekend, pals! Hopefully you get through the last bit of this work week! We will make it together!

Transition Trench Coat for Fall

Caslon Trench Coat in ‘Grey’ • Lilly Pulitzer TeeArticles of Society Jeans • Le Specs Sunglasses •

Here we are. We made it through another week, meaning we are one week closer to fall. To celebrate, I watched two Christmas movies this past weekend and I don’t regret it one bit. I know I’m the kind of person that a lot of people cant stand (Cue the “It’s not even October!” crowd), but the holiday season makes me happy, so I’m going to keep milking it for as many months as I can.

I keep dressing warm in the hopes of summoning the cooler temps, but much to my dismay, it hasn’t really been working. I am not one to give up though, so I decided to share this lovely trench coat with you all. Maybe some of you should snag it too in order to bring on the brisk weather that I am in desperate need of. Come on, people! Bring on the dead leaves!

This trench coat is so flattering, as it has an adjustable waist that you can tighten or loosen to your liking. I also love the hood, and the fact that it is longer too, so it will look cute with dresses as well. The color is called ‘grey’ online, but in person it looks like more of a really pale blue to me. I am really looking forward to layering this with a lot of different looks once it starts to actually get cooler outside. I need to get myself a plaid scarf or button-up that has this color somewhere in the pattern to wear with it!

I am finally back in Charleston after being Charlotte for quite some time due to Hurricane Irma. Luckily no damage was done to my place and I am so thankful. I am also super thankful for all of the unexpected time I got to spend with my family and boyfriend while I was home too. Having to evacuate for hurricanes is soooo stressful, but always a blessing in that sense.

Fall-ing For Light Pink

Happy Eclipse Day, everyone! Especially my fellow Charleston locals! I am so looking forward to clawing my way through the estimated million (!!!) of tourists here to see the eclipse. I mean, what could make a work day any better?? *Read the last two sentences with a tone of off-the-charts sarcasm.*

To help make this day a little easier to swallow, I am posting an adorable transition outfit, plus a little gift for you all (continue reading for more details). I know it’s only August, 90 degrees outside, and feels like you’re swimming in a fish tank every time you step outside, but no, you are not hallucinating when you look at these pictures. I am actually wearing boots. And lined boots, at that. Where do I pick up my trophy? I am beyond ready for fall. Like to infinity and beyond ready for fall. I need the holidays, and most importantly, I need cooler weather. My hair can’t take this humidity anymore. It misses the brisk fall and winter days when it stayed pretty all day, and didn’t lose it’s curl from me walking outside just to check the mail. And finally, I need to wear all of my fall clothes! I miss my boots, my sweaters, and my leggings!! So that’s why I’m bringing you a transition outfit this week. I just can’t wait any longer!

In this look, you get the colors and textures of summer, with the shoes of fall. This top is nice and airy, and doesn’t make you feel too hot. And it’s almost Labor Day, so we have to wear our white jeans while we still can (not that I abide by that rule much to begin with). These boots add a nice touch of the upcoming fall months we have upon us, and you could easily trade out the white jeans in this look for regular blue jeans if you want to carry it later into September.

And like I mentioned above, I have a little gift for you all! An online accessories store called ILYMIX, reached out to me and gave me a 20% off discount code to give to you! I ordered a pair of sunglasses from them a few weeks ago, and I was really pleased with what I received in the mail. I’m wearing the sunglasses I ordered in the pictures above! I wasn’t sure what to expect of the quality, just because they have such low prices, but the sunglasses are honestly really sturdy and high quality, and the metal frames aren’t flimsy or feel like they will break like some similar sunglasses I own. So not only are their prices affordable, but they give you a quality product too! The best of both worlds! Of course I ordered the pink pair to perfectly match my top, but they also have pairs that come in neutral colors like gold and silver too! It’s the perfect place to get trendy sunglasses on a budget. ILYMIX also carries really cute beanies and blanket scarves for fall (I love this beaded beanie, and this classic blanket scarf!), so I will definitely be snagging up some of those when it starts to get chilly! Just enter the code HOH20 at checkout to get 20% off your order!

I hope you all enjoyed this look, and are doing something fun for the eclipse! I’ll be at work in the center of it all…please pray for me!

Purple Cold-Shoulder Dress

IMG_4047IMG_4048IMG_4142IMG_4090IMG_4091IMG_4312IMG_4100IMG_4127IMG_4334

Apparently purple is a lot of people’s least favorite color, and I am almost certain that this dress could persuade them to think otherwise. I mean, it’s gorgeous, and the color is so rich (am I describing this dress, or some sort of coffee? I don’t even know). Everyone probably knows by know that I am all about flowy tops and dresses. Maybe if I had six-pack abs (don’t think that’s in the stars for me), I wouldn’t be so concerned with the flowiness of my clothes, but for now I really enjoy the comfort level they provide, and I feel like many flowy pieces can be easily dressed up or down. I wear this dress with simple sandals and more toned-down jewelry to work all of the time, but I wanted to dress it up for this post with my new favorite wedges and some statement earrings.

Not only is the color of this dress great, but the ruffle at the bottom adds a cute and feminine touch that I really enjoy, and makes the dress a little more something special other than just a plain purple dress. I decided to pair the turquoise Kendra Scott earrings with it because I really enjoyed the contrasting jewel tones of the dress and the earrings, and thought they made each other pop!

I hope everyone is having a great start to the summer break, and hopefully for all of your sakes, getting more of a summer tan than I am. My one day off of work this week, and it’s raining…looks like I’m going to be pale forever. Ugh, my life is a highway! *I say in a sarcastically whiny voice as I stare out longingly through my rain-drenched window*
