BB DAKOTA Dress // Hat (old, so similar here, and here) // MARC FISHER Wedges // BAUBLEBAR Earrings

Hey, pals! I hope you all have been doing well!! I am in a super good mood today because I checked the status of my passport this morning, and it is on its way to me!!!! I will give y’all a sort of brief background of the passport drama that I have been experiencing the past month or so.

For those of you that don’t know, my boyfriend, Juan, and his family are from Medellín, Colombia, and around the holidays, we made plans to make a trip there this summer with all of his family and I. I have never been out of the country before, so this trip is a huge deal to me! Not only because it will be my first trip out of the country, but because I can’t wait to see the country where the love of my life was born, and to be immersed in the culture that his family has welcomed me into with open arms ever since we started dating over four years ago.

Since I have never traveled out of the country, I have never had a passport, so I applied for my passport a little over a month and a half ago, giving me a little over 2.5 months to get it! Well apparently what I had always thought was my Texas birth certificate, was actually a Texas birth card, so basically just a short form birth certificate.  I got a letter in the mail from the passport agency telling me that they cannot use a birth card to issue a passport. So ever since I received that letter, I have spent the past 3.5 weeks scrambling around to get a copy of my birth certificate. Oh yeah, and crying too. Like a lot. I don’t handle stress well at all, and have always been a worrier.

But after finally getting my birth certificate (thanks to the help of my grandma!! Hi, Nonnie!!!), I checked my passport status today, and it is on the way to me!!! Thank the Lord!!! I feel so relieved and feel like I can actually be excited about the trip now! In fact, I’m so excited that I’ve already started planning my packing list! Keep in mind that the trip is over three weeks away lol.

Speaking of my packing list, this dress is on it! (Can I get a round of applause for that smooth subject transition??) It is so comfortable and flowy, which is why I want to take it with me to Colombia. It’s going to be really hot, so I am planning on packing a ton of dresses and shorts. I also plan on eating more than my fair share of arepas on the trip, so flowy dresses are a must.

I hope you are all having a great week!!! Do any of y’all have passport drama stories? Or is it just me who is gets stuck in these foolish situations?

LBD: Little Blue Dress

IMG_7195IMG_7352IMG_7113IMG_7379IMG_7060IMG_7274IMG_7077IMG_7396IMG_7103

Hello, friends! I have an outfit that I am very excited to share with you, because it is my new favorite piece of clothing that I own….This. Dress. I love it sooooo much. You know that feeling you get when you put on an outfit and you just feel great in it? When you feel confident and beautiful, and ready to take on the day? That’s how this dress makes me feel. I was really hesitant to buy it for a long time because it has been a blogger favorite for the past couple months, and I didn’t want to buy something that everyone else had. But honestly, I’m so glad I got it. The price of this dress is not too expensive, especially considering the quality of it. The material is thick and “sturdy,” and I mean that in the high-quality, will-last-you-a-long-time kind of way, not the stiff, uncomfortable kind of way. It is so comfortable, and is one of those dresses that you can dress up and wear for a nice dinner out, or just throw on to look cute while running errands. I highly recommend this dress.

I do suggest going a size down if you purchase this dress. I am a size medium, and I ordered the small, and I still feel like it is a little baggy on me. Also, the color of this dress online was a lot more aqua blue then it is in person. In person it’s much more of a cobalt blue, but I was pretty happy when I got it in the mail and found that out, because I love cobalt blue! The dress is sold out in the blue color, but I’m hoping they restock it soon. I linked the dress below in two other colors that are on sale, and the dress also comes in four additional colors, they are just not on sale. Nordstrom starts transitioning their clothes into fall really quickly, so the colors that aren’t on sale are darker and less vibrant.

Also, this necklace is the bomb. I got this necklace while shopping with my mom in Charleston a couple of weeks ago, and it’s amazing. It’s really high quality, and the blue in it matches this dress perfectly. But it would look so cute paired with a plain white top, jeans, and brown booties going into fall, just to add a little spunk!

I hope you all had a great weekend, and are ready to take on the week! I can’t say I am, but I’ll try my best! Let me know what you think of this look in the comments below! Or feel free to comment on my Instagram or Facebook, as well! Gotta network, ya know? Wishing everyone the best start to the week!

Coral Ruffle Dress

This week I bring to you the summer season in dress form! It’s only getting hotter outside, so why not wear a vibrant orange dress to match the weather? This dress comes complete with the off-the-shoulder look that I love, blouson sleeves, and a ruffle bottom that really makes twirling an extra fun activity. Just a warning though, people that drive by will definitely give you a judgmental look as you twirl on the sidewalk in front of someone else’s house. I paired the dress with my fun, tan heels and my new gold Lisi Lerch earrings, which I am obsessed with! I plan on doing a full post on Lisi Lerch earrings in the future!

This week brings fun plans for me, as I am visiting my family in Charlotte for an extended vacation, and have a lot of fun posts planned since I will have ample time to take pictures (as well as lay out, eat, and bask in the lazy relaxation that being at home provides). Have a great week, everybody!

Embroidery Love

A lot of people tend to overuse the word ‘obsessed,’ but in the case of this dress, when I say I am obsessed with it, I mean it. I would stalk this dress. This dress would probably have to get a restraining order against me. Am I taking this joke too far? Probably. But I think you all get the point.

I mean, it has pockets, people. Pockets! Hands down the greatest feature a dress can have is pockets. Whenever I feel awkward talking to someone and I don’t know what to do with my arms, if I’m wearing this dress, into the pockets my hands can securely go (in case you’re asking, yes, I crack myself up). The dress is also soooo comfortable, another huge plus. The embroidery is so precious, and finally, the SLEEVES. I love love love these sleeves. Statement sleeves are one of my favorite trends right now, and these sleeves make a statement, without being too in-your-face.

Styling this dress with wedges is great, but I think this dress could be easily dressed up for a summer wedding with some strappy nude heels and some statement earrings, like these. It can be dressed down too, and I can’t wait to wear it with my cowgirl boots this summer! When you can easily dress up and down a dress, I think it’s smart to snatch it up, because you want to get bang for your buck when it comes to your clothes.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I am headed to Charlotte this weekend to spend time with my family and I am so excited! I can’t wait to relax and force all of my dogs to snuggle with me.

Pink Off-The-Shoulder Dress

IMG_3951IMG_3922IMG_3966IMG_3913IMG_3976IMG_3927IMG_3833IMG_4025IMG_3876

This post is currently being written by an extremely relaxed and care-free Hayley, who is free of school, and can now focus on the important things that come with summer, such as being tan and leaving my backpack to collect dust for four months. Ah summer break, how I adore you.

My boyfriend and I decided to do some eating and wandering around Charleston yesterday, and this dress was perfect for it. The spunky hot pink color is so vibrant for these warmer months, and it would look great with a tan…which unfortunately I am lacking right now. It also comes in a light blue and white! Yes, it’s off-the-shoulder, but I refuse to apologize for how much off-the-shoulder items I have! If something looks good on you, you should buy it in every color, right? (Or maybe I’m just giving myself the excuse to buy more clothes…) The wedges I’m wearing are by Marc Fisher, and they are my new favorite wedges. Also, they are currently 30% off, so click the link below if you want a good deal! The gold choker I’m wearing is one of my favorites. I love how delicate it is, so it’s not as harsh as your typical choker, and it goes with everything!

If you are ever in the Charleston area, I highly suggest you eat at The Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island. My boyfriend and I ate there last night, and it was incredible! Great drinks, and amazing pizza and pasta. With all of these carbs, I’m going to be beach body-ready in no time! *gives an enthusiastic thumbs up, heavy with sarcasm* Happy start of summer break, everybody! There are many more looks to come, and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
